John Wright is a professional British potter specialising in both hand built and thrown forms. He makes great use of textural clays, combining them with very individual glazes which are inspired by aspects of nature such as pebbles, volcanic rocks, the sea, lichen and bark.
John also produces tableware, believing that pots in the domestic environment should give daily pleasure.
Based in Rutland and visiting Cornwall regularly, John finds endless inspiration in their contrasting landscapes.
His pots are constantly developing and are a pleasure to hold, especially the pebble shaped ones (prices range from £20-£300).
Profits from John's pottery sales go towards 'Together We Learn' – a registered charity that supports children and families in Ethiopia.
